Good afternoon MBMS families,
High school registration is quickly approaching for our current 8th graders. The high school counselors will be joining some 8th grade classes on March 9th and 10th to help our students finalize their registration.
The high school has put together a registration website that has all sorts of information about registration. There is a registration kick off video as well as the Course Registration Form. We have included links for the website, video, and registration form. Students will be shown the video and given time in class to work on their course registration form. It would be incredibly beneficial if families viewed the video and worked on the registration form with their students. Please see the 9th grade elective option form (also
linked at bottom of email) to see what elective classes are available to 9th graders.
Mount Vernon High School is excited to be offering Dual Language courses in Social Studies next school year. Rising 9th graders will be able to take Identity, Power and Action in Spanish , which will also count towards students' Social Studies graduation requirements and credits. Please see the attached flyer for more details.
March 2nd we will also have the high school AVID teacher visiting our lunches. They will be sharing information for students to learn more about AVID. More information can be found at the bottom of this email.

Buenas tardes familias de MBMS,
Se acerca el día de la inscripción para nuestros alumnos de 8.º grado. Los consejeros de la escuela se reunirán con algunas clases de 8.º grado el 9 y 10 de marzo para ayudar a nuestros estudiantes a finalizar su registración .
La escuela preparatoria ha creado un sitio web de registración con toda la información necesaria. Incluye un video de inicio de registración, así como el formulario de inscripción a cursos. Hemos incluido enlaces al sitio web, al video y al formulario de registración. Se mostrará el video a los estudiantes y se les dará tiempo en clase para que trabajen en su formulario de inscripción a cursos. Sería muy beneficioso que las familias vieran el video y trabajaran en el formulario registración con sus estudiantes. Consulten el formulario de opciones electivas de 9.º grado (también

La Escuela Preparatoria Mount Vernon se complace en ofrecer cursos bilingües de Estudios Sociales el próximo año escolar. Los alumnos que ingresen a 9.º grado podrán cursar Identidad, Poder y Acción en español, que también contará para los requisitos de graduación y los créditos de Estudios Sociales. El 2 de marzo también tendremos la visita del profesor de AVID de preparatoria en nuestros almuerzos. Compartirá información para que los estudiantes aprendan más sobre AVID. Puede encontrar más información al final de este correo electrónico.
